Miniature Sage Green Shaker Basket

This outstanding 19th Century Shaker Splint Basket is exceptionally well made and is in PRISTINE condition.  No apologies here!  It is everything a painted basket should be . . . Very fine hand cut splint, delicate carved bentwood handles  notched to grasp the rim with the tapered ends woven into the basket and a wonderful dry painted surface makes this basket very special.  It measures 7-1/2inches x 4-1/2 inches x 3-3/4 inches high to the top of the fixed handles.

The color of this little basket almost defies description and was very difficult to photograph.  In the picture above it appears a taupe color but in reality it is more of a light gray/sage color with a brown double-wrapped rim.  The paint is nice and dry, just the way we like it. The color changes depending on the light and right now it is most like the picture below. One thing is for sure, you will never tire of the color!
