Silhouette of a Woman

It is not often one acquires a completely painted silhouette.  More common are the hollow-cut and cut and paste varieties. 

Our ladies bonnet has a translucent quality hard to achieve in a watercolor medium and in this piece the artist does it very well.  The profile is well chiseled and the total effect is outstanding.  Framed in a lemon gold frame with a gold mat, the silhouette measures 4-3/4 inches x 5-1/2 inches overall and 2 inches x 2-1/2 inches (sight).
