Pocket Watch Trade Sign

19th century Double Sided Pocket Watch Trade sign. This would have been used by Jewelers, Clockmakers, or Watch Repair Shops to advertise their trade.   It is made of wood and not metal. It is of the post Civil War period (c. 1865 to 1870's) when watches of this type were beginning to be made. Not round, but octagonal, of the "new" style.
Wooden Double Octagonal Frame with painted clock face and heavy duty brass hanger.  A bit of whimsey here in that the time is different on each side. Wonderful Folk Art and the "Real Deal".  Moderately weathered condition due to outdoor use and exposure to the elements but still displays nicely. Size is 13"w x 20" h.
$2800.00
