Rabbitware Roadster Plate
 This Rabbitware plate of the Rabbits riding in a Roadster, along with the five that comprise the "Sporting Series", are whimsical fancies of Rabbits engaged in "people" activity. The others are Golf, Baseball, Tennis, Croquet and Cricket. The Roadster is by far the rarest of the group. The transfer pattern of the Rabbits driving a Roadster Car occupies not only the well, but extends outward to the rim of the plate and, in this case, is surrounded by a colorful cut sponge border in the "Virginia" pattern. We currently have 1 Roadster Plate in mint condition for $3400.00, and one with an excellent, prof. repair for $2900.00. We also have Cricket in the Sporting Series ($1900.00). On this particular plate the Rabbits are engaged in "people" activity . . . out for a drive in a red automobile unidentifiable as to manufacture, but somewhat reminiscent of an Early Franklin, according to Robacker in Spatterware and Sponge. Two other rabbits, one blowing a horn, are riding as passengers. The stamped British registration mark on the back would suggest an early Twentieth Century provenance.
