Presented here, a pressed Acanthus Leaf Lamp with brass stem and marble base.  The color of the lamp is what is referred to a clambroth but was known as alabaster at the time of productionThe  reeded brass standard still retains its original lacquered finish and the marble base is in wonderful condition with only a slight bit of wear to one corner that is felt, rather than seen in any instance except very close inspection.  Boston and Sandwich Glass Company, c. 1850-1860.  According to Barlow and Kaiser, lamps during this period could be purchased with a choice of either a whale oil or fluid burner. 11-1/2" high.
