Presented here, a pressed Acanthus Leaf Lamp with brass stem and marble base. The color of the lamp is what is referred to a clambroth but was known as alabaster at the time of production. The reeded brass standard still retains its original lacquered finish and the marble base is in wonderful condition with only a slight bit of wear to one corner that is felt, rather than seen in any instance except very close inspection. Boston and Sandwich Glass Company, c. 1850-1860. According to Barlow and Kaiser, lamps during this period could be purchased with a choice of either a whale oil or fluid burner. 11-1/2" high.
