Salt Glazed Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Flying Eagle Decoration
Presented here, a rare and wonderful little stoneware crock with a Cobalt Flying Eagle decoration. Rare small size . . . the crock is only 6-1/2" tall with an even rarer Flying Eagle decoration.

The color is nice and even. The kiln has been kind to this one and though unsigned, it has been attributed to NY, and further research reveals a larger crock with an almost identical eagle and banner signed Riedinger & Caire Poughkeepsie NY.
The condition is high outstanding with no cracks, chips, or restoration. The Cobalt decoration is nice and dark but it should be noted that upon very close inspection there is a bit of fry, but not so much as to be a problem. You can always find room for a nice small piece like this . . . especially when they are so rare and in such fine condition!
