Figured Maple Cutlery Tray
Presented here, a gorgeous Cutlery Tray made of Birdseye Maple, though one side is Tiger.  Actually these woods are the same.  It depends on how the wood was cut. The bottom of the tray is plain maple.  Fastenings are early hand wrought nails and the joinery is excellent. The fretwork is gorgeous (reminds me of ocean waves) and the entire piece is a treat for the eye.  Dimensions are 8-1/2"wide  x 13"long x 4" high, circa 2nd Qtr. 19th Century.
