The Shield of brass over the iron shield and has no tilting device to flow the fuel to the wick. The shields mostly contain words or decorative engravings. Why such an expensive to make and exotic design would be destined for mine use totally escapes me. It is probably Austrian and is marked at the base of the arched hanger (back side).
