Folky Songbird Mounted on a Branch
Presented here, a superb hand carved brightly colored Finch with wire legs, mounted on a turned wooden base and wired into a real, treated tree branch. A hanger is attached to the turned wooden base allowing the bird to be hung on the wall.  The colors on the Song Finch are Reds, Yellows, Cream and Brown.  Overall fine original condition, the only thing needing to be mentioned for the sake of accuracy is a tiny flake off the top of the tail and a slight rub to the paint on the right side of the neck.

The entire piece is 10-1/4" long and the bird itself is 8-1/4" long from the tip of the beak to the tip of the tail. It's a wonderful folk art carving and a fine example of its genre`. Circa 1850's, Pennsylvania.
