Presented here, a simply wonderful miniature or child's chest of drawers . Standing only 15 1/2" tall, it is 15" wide and 7 3/4" deep. It is fastened together with big old square nails and the piece retains most of it's original bittersweet paint. There is a darker wash or perhaps even a dark shellac applied to simulate a grain painted surface. A beautifully scalloped apron (missing one "spur" on bottom left) is about the only decorative detail on this piece of miniature furniture that is oh-so-rare on today's marketplace.
Pennsylvania, circa 1820-30.
