American Pewter Teapot

This fine American Pewter Teapot bears the touchmark G. Richardson and is in very exceptional condition.  He was born in England in about 1782 and we find him appearing in Boston records for the first time in 1818.  This particular touch was used while he was in Boston from about 1818 until around 1828-30.  He then appeared in Cranston, RI with a different touch and in 1847/48 had a shop with his sons in Providence, dying there on July 15, 1848.

Size is 9" high to the top of the finial.  We found this piece in Ohio in the estate of a 50 years antiques dealer whose collection was notably fine and focused on American Pewter of exceptional quality.
