Red Fingered Oval Box Early 19th Century Oval Box in original red paint with nicely carved elongated "fingers" . . . one on the box and and a shorter one on the lid. Top and bottom are pine, box is Maple. The left facing elongated fingers are fastened with iron tacks. 5-1/2" long. There is some indistinct writing on the bottom identifying the owner " . . . .Hill's Box". There is to-be-expected wear to the paint, particularly on the high points on the cover where one would lift off the lid. The lid fits snugly and the surface has darkened to a very pleasing Cranberry color. $1850.00 R22J23276
