Presented here is a very early maple turned footed bowl. The shrinkage here almost defies description. This round little bowl has almost turned oval . . . from 5 to 4-1/2 inches. It's really quite wonderful. It's a survivor for sure. As I hold it in my hand I can feel the evidence of wear from many generations before me. Notice the unusual wear on the footed surface . . . worn down in time from handling.
It's small, but mighty . . . The surface is original, the patina is gorgeous, the condition is excellent.
