Ivory Cribbage Board

Note the breadth and mass of this piece!  The cribbage board is done from only the tip of a very massive tusk from a huge bull walrus. The crafting is as impressive as the weight of the tusk tip.  The beautifully executed 4 Salmon and Arctic Fox (?) have been relief carved rather than applied.  A huge difference in labor.  Wonderful patina.  The back is scrimmed with 3 more salmon, each a bit different from the others.

The color of the above piece appears to be different, but it is just the result of the lighting.  The real color is that of the top picture.  The tusk is 15" long and 2-1/2" wide at the top. Overall condition is excellent.
