RARE American Starboard Running Light (Red) with original Dietz oval oil burner. Flat glass lens (original hand rolled sheet glass) . . . pre-Fresnel.  Made of galvanized iron with brass details, the lamp is in fine condition, with only minor expected wear due to its age and usage. The turret is hand punched in the early "Christmas tree" ventilation pattern. The galvanizing on this lamp has been professionally polished leaving a very attractive, soft pewter-like finish.

This lamp would be appreciated by even the most advanced collector. Size is 8 1/2" tall, excluding the bail handle. American, circa 3^rd quarter 1800's.
