Chip Carved Cribbage Board

In over 30 years of purchasing fine cribbage boards for advanced collectors this is the finest we've seen! ! !  Others have been more flashy by far or more artistic with masterful inlays, etc., but this one is a masterpiece of elegant understatement.  So, why rank it the best of all, you ask?  CHIP CARVING is the answer.  If you've ever tried it, you will understand.  To get two acceptable chips side by side is difficult.  Two perfect ones seems frustratingly impossible for the amateur.

This cribbage board had resided in the collection of Maine dealers, Al and Barbara Sale before it came to us.  Obviously they thought it was a very special piece, as we do.  It is a masterpiece of design and skillful execution by a very talented Folk Artist.  The Hearts and Diamonds further enhance the board's desirability. 22-1/2 inches long x 11-1/3 inches wide x 1 inch high with the actual playing surface terraced an additional inch. It sits on four little feet and has an enclosed compartment on the underside that holds the pegs which are surprisingly still there. The best of the best for the collector of the best!
