 Miniature Painted Mortar and Pestle

Wonderful Miniature Treen Mortar and Pestle in great Paint! Most likely made as a Toy for some girl or boy and shows evidence that it was used for something (?).  Your guess is as good as mine! Great wear on the bottom, the surface is nice and dry, not shiny as it appears in the picture. Colors are Ochre and a Sienna Brown/Red. Lovely!
The Pestle, with refined turnings shows good wear to the bottom from use and remnants of wear commensurate with use. It is a sweet little treasure, beautifully preserved and well loved as evidenced by the very well-repaired tight stable fissure that extends from the rim to the middle of the bottom. One barely notices it unless one knows where to look. It does not compromise the integrity of the piece at all.
A survivor from the mid-19th century and a notable addition to any collection. Size is 1-3/4" high and 1-1/2" in diameter.
