Cobalt Decorated Lyons
Stoneware Jar Presented here a very nice 1 gallon Cobalt Decorated Lyons (New York, 1822-1904) Stoneware Preserve Jar. Impressed mark "LYONS". Brushed cobalt flower flanked by double 1's, also in blue. The condition is very good and the color of the stoneware is very even throughout. The only thing that needs mentioning is a tiny "nick", probably in the making, on the bottom edge. The kiln and the years have been kind to this one :-)
Size is 9" high and 7-1/4" in diameter, ca. 1860's.
