Green Painted Fishing Creel

Presented here, a wonderful early fishing creel in green paint.  Made of very finely woven splint, the condition is outstanding with only one tiny break in the splint on the back.  The paint is nicely oxidized and shows the right amount of wear on the high places as it should.  The surface is not as shiny as it appears in the picture . . . that's the result of the flash.  The sueded leather strap is complete and original.  Rarely do we find creels in such pristine condition . . . Especially in original paint.  One of the splints attaching the lid has managed to "go missing" long ago and has been replaced with a cord.  Just patch it up and keep fishing!  It is obvious from the condition that while the creel was used it was also very well taken care of.

This, most recently from a collection of fishing creels that numbered over 50+, but there were only 4 in paint!
Size is 12" long at the bottom and on the lid x 9" high x 5-1/2" deep.
