Carved Cookie Board

Presented here, a wonderful, deeply carved Cookie Board, probably Pennsylvania or New York State. This is a fine example of the genre` and the deeply carved hearts make it a very special piece.  It's truly folk art where a utilitarian object is elevated to an art form.  When not in use it could be hung on the wall for carving to be admired.  Each Heart is carved in a different pattern . . . no two are alike.  It measures 19-1/3" long and 5" wide.  The board that it is carved on is 7/8" thick.  It is in excellent condition and has a nice patina.
