Two Candle and Rush-Nip Candle Standard

Presented here, a rather unique piece of early lighting . . . a combination two Candle and Rush Nip Holder.  We've not seen another like this.  It is exceptional in design, crafting and intrigue.  Dating from the 18th Century, it was found in a Vermont homestead in 1940-50.  It had a heavy rust coating when it was removed from its barn storage . . . too many years of damp, cold and condensation.  It should last for centuries if the future caretakers treat it with love.  Please!

The surface rust has been removed leaving a nice, even all-over color, just the way we like to see on old iron.  The shaft has a nice, rather unique twisted detail and stands on spider legs with penny feet.  The condition is excellent. The piece stands 38" tall and the feet are 15" apart on each side.
